Governance & Conflict-of-Interest Disclosure

[DRAFT — pending attorney + WERCS review] NIHST is an independent standards and credentialing body. This page discloses how the standard is governed and how independence is maintained, including NIHST's relationship with its founder, WERCS, Inc.

Founder relationship

WERCS, Inc. founded and seeded NIHST and is among the first employers whose technicians hold the credential. WERCS facilities may also serve as on-the-job training sites. This relationship is disclosed openly.

How independence is maintained

[CONFIRM with WERCS/Ben] The competency standard, exam content, and credential issuance decisions are governed by [the NIHST standards committee / board], with documented recusal where a WERCS interest is involved. WERCS does not control individual issuance or revocation decisions.

Continuity of verification

[CONFIRM] NIHST maintains a plan for continuity of credential verification, including periodic archival export of the credential registry, so credentials remain verifiable independent of any single party.
